Josie is a happy addition to Gryphon kennels ... a lovely, sweet girl from Taolan lines. We, well, we love her :-) and are very excited about our little Josie girl! who has already wrapped herself firmly around every heart she's met. With Josie, we hope to further our objective in building a line that embodies not only "type" and sound conformation, but also exceptional temperaments, honest working ability and sound health. So far, she has exceeded all expectations ... may the good energy continue! |

Josie has proven to be a real trooper ... and such a happy girl! who seems to adapt to just about anything. First, she endured the long 2-day car trip home. Then she hung out at a friend's while "Pappa" (doggie-granddad) & I went horseback riding ... all of which was a relatively normal day, until we realized we'd dropped something and decided to hike it back in (without the benefit of horses!) to see if we could find it (a cell phone, if you can believe it ... even harder to believe, we actually found it). |
We walked about 2 miles, and gave Josie breaks so she wouldn't get too tired. She loved it! ... especially chasing the thistles ... and playing in the stream ... and pouncing on wind-blown leaves ... Here Pappa is giving her a ride on his shoulders towards the end, a position she apparently found perfectly natural, as she promptly fell asleep. |

Winning in the ring ... as just a baby! Josie made her debut in the show ring in January 2005 at 6-1/2 months old. True to the budding Gryphon tradition, she did some nice winning her very first day out! The first day, Josie took RWB to a very nice major entry under judge Joan Luna. Later in the weekend she took RWB again under noted breeder-judge Al Holabach. Best of all ... she was a happy, happy girl! and really seemed to like this show stuff (except when taking pictures, of course) |
Taking the Show to Canada ... We then took Josie on the road back to her native country, for her first Canadian shows in early February of 2005. Once again she made a splash debut! |
Josie took Winners Bitch/Best of Opposite and Best Puppy in Breed! for her first Canadian Championship points. Later in the weekend she took Reserve. Not too bad ... especially considering the very nice mature competition out there! |

| New AKC Ch Josie showed quite a bit as a young'un, tThen we let her grow up a bit ... We started getting her out a bit again in 2007. And once again, Josie, as always, did us proud ... quickly racking up AKC points and getting her first major in Aug of '07 (out of coat no less!) and another In summer of 2008, handled by Lila. She then finished with a BANG! at Centralia in Spring of 2009 (this time handled by Auntie Tina), taking not just winners (a 3d major) but Best Opposite over specials! both that day and the next as her first day as a special. We are so proud of you, Jo-Jo. |
