We ask that you answer the following information as completely as you can so that we may best help you decide whether a malamute is right for you and your family.  This information is also important in helping us evaluate your potential match-up with a Gryphon Alaskan Malamute puppy (or dog).

We strive to place our puppies not only in the best of homes, but also with the best possible match beween the puppy's traits and personality and your wants and needs.  A happy match is a long-term match, and we do all that we can to ensure that our puppies (and dogs) go to their "forever home", and will be a treasured member of the family.

ALL OF THE INFORMATION YOU PROVIDE HERE WILL BE HELD CONFIDENTIAL AND WILL NOT BE RELEASED TO ANYONE OUTSIDE OF GRYPHON ALASKAN MALAMUTES, OR USED FOR PURPOSES OTHER THAN HELPING US EVALUATE YOU AS A POTENTIAL PUPPY OWNER.

While we will want all of the following information before making an actual placement, we understand there are sometimes reasons to discuss the questions before responding.  If there are questions you are unsure of or would rather discuss "in person", please do not hesitate to let us know and we will be happy to follow-up either through email or phone call, or arrange a personal visit.

Note that prices do not include any deposits, such as the $50 mandatory training incentive deposit which is refunded once you have completed two training courses with your puppy.
If you indicated a preference for one sex or another, please tell us why you feel this is the best choice for you.
Do you currently have any dogs or other pets?
If "yes", please briefly describe your current pet(s)
Please include:
* At what age you obtained your pet(s)
* Whether from a breeder, rescue, friend or other
* Sex, and whether altered or intact
* Their current age
* If your pet is a dog, whether or not they get along with other dogs as a general rule
* If not a dog, whether your pet has been previously exposed to dogs
* If your other pet(s) are small animals or livestock, whether or not you have a secure way to separate them from your malamute if necessary

If you do not have adequate space in this textbox, please just indicate that here and email the information to GryphonMals@msn.com
Have you raised a puppy before?
Do you have a completely fenced yard?
If "no", do you have plans to build one?
What other means to you have to safely contain a large dog?
If "yes", please let us know the material (wood, chain link, etc.) and height of your fence.
Will your new puppy/dog be allowed inside?
Have you ever taken a dog through an obedience or other formal training course?
If "yes", please briefly describe your prior training experience, and with which breed(s).
Are you willing to commit to taking your new puppy through a puppy class and at least one obedience course?
If adopting an older pup or dog, are you willing to commit to taking him or her through at least one training class?
The following information is to help you assess whether or not the financial commitment of owning a malamute is realistic or desirable for you and your family ... many times people are caught unawares, and both them and the dog suffer.  This may seem irrelevant, but it is an important part of the screening process.
Are you aware that routine preventative veterinary care - excluding emergency or accidental injury - can cost $200+ annually?
Are you willing and able to provide such vet care, PLUS reasonable expenses as necessary in the case of an accident or emergency?
Are you willing and able to provide necessary items such as a quality food ($40-50/month), malamute-appropriate toys (often more expensive than you "average" dog toy), a secure kennel if appropriate ($200-600), ongoing training as necessary ($50-100 per class), appropriate grooming supplies ($50 minimum), secure collars and leads ($20 on up), etc.?
The following information is to help us understand your knowledge of the malamute breed, both so that we can get to know your experience a bit better and also to perhaps recommend further helpful research sources to help you make the best decision for you and your family.
Have you ever owned a malamute before?
If "yes", please briefly describe your prior mal(s)
Please include:
* At what age you obtained your mal(s) (and current age if appropriate)
