Summary comments about litter/combo
_Our goal, both short- and long-term, is to build
upon dogs that exhibit the essential traits of what it means to be a
malamute - including not just conformational excellence, but also
health, temperament and working soundness. Looking at
the qualities Gryphon & Boots bring to the table, both as
individuals and in pedigree, this should be an exceptionally strong
breeding. But it also goes deeper than that. Boots has already proven to be an exceptional mom, in addition to exhibiting exceptional breed qualities and temperament. As we move forward,
Gryphon's strong attributes, backed by an impressive pedigree of dogs
proven to pass on essential breed traits, not only tie in nicely both to Boots in particular but also to the
backdrop of the lines we have chosen to found in.
A bit about the parents ... Our Bootsie

New momma Boots - tired but happy!
_Momma Boots
is a sound, honest girl who rarely puts a foot wrong and is maturing
into an exceptionally solid and beautiful girl in every way. She has
also proven to be a fantastic mom, passing on both her conformational strengths as well as her exemplary temperament. She is a valued member on team; and
as part of our "family pack" of regular house girls along with her mom,
grandma, daughter, nieces and half siblings, and now granddaughter in
various combinations.
Boots further proved her soundness by sweeping the ring in late 2009/early 2010, winning 8 of her 11 shows as a young adult with 6 BOWs, 3 majors, and BOS wins over specials! As we were on a roll and Boots was having fun, we let Boots play around in the specials ring a bit despite her young age. Boots went on to gain a good start towards her Grand Championship with BOB, BOS and Select wins over much more mature specials over just a few months. In that short stint she earned 3/4 of her Gr.Ch. points, before taking a break to mature a bit.
As this opportunity was a once in a lifetime one, with frozen semen from a great dog of the past, we worked closely with a reproductive specialist to give this breeding every opportunity for success.
Bootsie is truly a special girl!

As to Daddy ...

_ Gryphon and his impressive lineage
likely needs no introduction. Gryphon is a Multi Grand-Sweeps winner,
Multi Best in Veteran Sweeps winner, and a Best Puppy in Group winner.
Gryphon's parents are two of the breed's greats - Destry (BIS Am/Can Storm Kloud's
Fortune O'Kasaan) and of course the beautiful Terrapin (BIS BISS Am/Can Ch.
Byeyo's Champagne and Ice ROM, CD, CAM, CGC). His brothers are Austin
(Am/Can Ch. Terrapin Kasaan's Look O'Fortune ROM CGC) and Ozzie (Am/Can Ch.
Terrapin's Against All Odds). We cannot say enough about how much we admire these dogs, and Gryphon in
particular.
And, of course, with that name, how could it not be fate?
A HUGE HUGE thanks to Cheryl Paterson of Terrapin malamutes for the honor of allowing us to use Gryphon in our program, and the opportunity to participate in a great legacy. We are deeply touched ... and SO excited!!
