Hunter is our handsome Luna son out of her second breeding. Hunter was a gorgeous show prospect, but showing can't compare to the perfect home, and that's what Hunter has with Ruth and Warren. An exceptional couple who run a small farm in Eastern Washington, Ruth & Warren have had malamutes for years. They never shrunk from a challenge, and despite having a few curves thrown at them never gave anything less than their all to their furry kids. When they came to us for a companion after their brother-sister malamute team passed away, we were honored. You can tell by the perpetual grin and look of contentment Hunter has that he is exactly where he was meant to be!
But sometimes, you really can have the best of both worlds. Ruth & Warren had a history of responsibly managing an intact male, and Hunter's temperament boded well for not running into social problems with his "intactness". In fact, Hunter's best buddy is his younger "brother" Shadow, a neutered boy from the Hooch & Josie breeding. This made for an ideal situation for being able to keep this beautiful boy in our program while enjoying the farm life. Hunter may have never hit a show ring or seen a harness, but he has proven himself in a million other ways. We could not be more proud of him, or more thankful for the wonderful life Ruth and Warren have given him as a happy farm dog!
Hunter is brother to our beautiful Amore, who has proven herself a cornerstone of our breeding program. Amore produced exceptionally well in every way across two very different outcrosses and a linebreeding, which bodes well for Hunter's potential. We are pleased to have gotten a nice collection from him at 6 years old, for use when the right time comes.
